Tina van der Ven is the Founder and CEO of vdV Consulting, a Miami-based boutique marketing and communications firm built on a simple belief: passion, accountability, and strategic thinking change outcomes.
Tina’s career spans more than two decades across healthcare, law, business development, marketing, and communications. She began as a clinical researcher at Brigham and Women’s Hospital before transitioning into healthcare marketing, consulting with Ernst & Young and Enzyme, Inc. She later led regional marketing, business development, strategy, and communications at Greenberg Traurig, one of the world’s leading law firms, where she served as Director of Marketing in BigLaw. Prior to founding vdV Consulting, Tina co-founded NewStar Media.
That cross-sector perspective shapes the way Tina advises clients today. She understands how organizations grow, how reputations are built, and how relationships move business forward. Her firm serves clients across legal and professional services, healthcare, finance, nonprofits, real estate, hospitality, architecture, and technology.
Beyond her client work, Tina is deeply involved in the South Florida community. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of St. Thomas Episcopal Parish School and the Board of Directors of Lotus House (Sundari Foundation). She is an active member of the Al and Jane Nahmad Women’s Cancer Committee and the Miami Homes for All Engagement Committee. She is a former co-chair of the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami and has served on the boards of Kristi House and the Downtown Miami Charter School.
She lives in Coconut Grove with her husband, Alex, and their two children.
Tina has been recognized as a “Power Leader in Marketing” by the South Florida Business Journal and a “Woman of Style” by Miami Magazine. She received the Miami Women Who Rock “Woman of the Year” Award, was inducted into the American Cancer Society “Inner Circle of Twelve” and the NSU University School “Hall of Fame,” and received the “Wonder Woman” Award from BBBS Miami and the “Academic Inspiration Award” from Take Stock in Children.
Tina holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and a master’s degree in public health from Boston University.
Michelle Ayala brings more than 25 years of experience advising organizations and leadership teams in high-stakes communications environments. As a media relations and communications consultant for vdV Consulting and its clients, she helps businesses clarify their messaging, shape compelling narratives, and develop integrated campaigns that support visibility, reputation, and growth.
Michelle works closely with clients to secure meaningful media coverage, strengthen executive communications, and align messaging across partners, investors, employees, and institutional stakeholders.
Her experience spans corporate, consultancy, and agency environments, with expertise in media relations, thought leadership, employee engagement, public affairs, crisis communications, issues management, corporate social responsibility, and strategic planning.
Early in her career, Michelle worked in Oslo, Norway, where she played a pivotal role in launching Opera Software, helping position the startup web browser company for growth as it evolved into a global technology provider.
She has represented businesses across consumer and enterprise technology, healthcare, legal, finance, construction, retail, entertainment, travel, and nonprofit sectors. Her breadth of experience allows her to bring structure, creativity, and strategic clarity to complex communications initiatives.
